Joint Ownership home repair costs

My sister and I inherited my mothers home 50/50 when she died, the home is fully payed off. My husband was in the military at the time so my sister lived in the home for a year and half by herself. He seperated from the military and I talked to my sister about buying her out of the home and she agreed to it. We moved into the house befor buying her out, and did approx. $10,000 in home repairs which I was supposed to get reimbursed 50% of that when I bought her out. When I started looking for loans to buy her out she changed her mind and refuses to let me buy her out. Can I sue her for half of the home repairs? If yes where do I find the information telling me I can.

Do you have your agreement in writing indicating that Sissy will pay half of the repair costs?

Without a written contract, I'll bet she denies agreeing to this.

You can sue her.

Without something in writing, your recovery will be impossible. She won't help you beat her.

Never do these kinds of deals unless everything is in writing. Then it'll be signed, sealed, and delivered.

Yes, I agree I faulted myself trusting my sister, I cant change that. But these were necessary repairs, not home upgrades. The main example is the floors, our mother and my sister who was living with my mother had 3 dogs and 4 cats living with them plus during the time I was gone she took in and got rid of multiple pets that. Urinated and pooped ALL OVER the carpets making it so bad that when I had the carpets replaced my repair man said I needed to scrub the cement floors with bleach after the carpet is pulled up so it will get rid of the smell. My husband could not even go into the house because the smell was so bad. There is no law for necessary repairs? Additionally I have witnesses primarily our brother who did the majority of repairs to her agreeing to paying half the costs when we buy her out.

Or write the People's Court, Judge Mathis, or Judge Judy.
They'll pay both of you.
Contact them, and learn how it works.
The burden of proof is often lowered.
They look at equity and not just the law.
