I need some advise on child custody. I have 2 grandchildren a girl that is 11 and a boy who is 13. I'm the grandmother. The paper says the court grants sole legal custody to the mother. The court grants joint physical to both parties but primary physical custody to the mother. The father (my son) has only supervised visitatson. However my son does not currently live with me but he's having hard times and him and his girlfriend and kid need a place to live. So if I take them into my house to live here can the mother take me to court and get full custody? Or will I lose out on having joint physical custody?

I'm a little confused - why do you think you would have any type of legal custody?

Who are the both parties that currently have joint physical custody - generally mother & father? You "talk" as if you do & are worried about losing out on jt. physical custody. As Proserpina asked, why would you as the grandmother have any type of legal/physical custody?

I'm a little confused also.
