Jail time

I am trying to see if anyone knows what the punishment for a hit and run is? If i was not arrested ist ehre a possiblilty that I may have to go to jail.

I was given 2 tickets one for causing the accident and the other ofr leaving the scene of an accident. Let me know what the information is that you need. I have to go to court to find out what punishment i will be given. I am trying to get an idea what that will be

It depends on state law. Since you did not name your state, no one can say.

In California a misdemeanor hit and run has the potential for jail time. Chances are that is the case in every state.

I am in florida. DO you know what the percentage of the punishment being jail time would be. When you say potential what would cause it to happen. I did leave the guy all my infomation and i spoke with the officer and clarified everything that happened. Also there were no injuries

I have no idea about FL law on this issue. I suspect that jail time would be unlikely, but theoretically possible.
