I'm back re: NSF checks. I'm trying to get an idea of what penalty might be imposed for passing $3,000 in NSF checks in CA. The maker of the checks is unemployed, has no residence, no assets (except an old car), and couldn't care less about his credit report. There must be some sort of penalty that would hit home in a situation like this other than a judgement that will never be recovered, e.g., some time in jail. Thank you for your time.
