I have a sort of simple question that I haven't been able to find much info on..

Is it legal for a person to have an e-commerce website where they take orders for a particular product, and then directly order the product from the original manufacturer to the end consumer? The person with the website in this scenario would never even physically have the product.

This is incredibly common. Amazon for instance.

It's called "drop shipping."

Very legal and very common.

I wonder if the purveyor of fine goods sells animal, mineral, man made, or plant products?

does the original manufacturer have any terms/language on their sales page? You might also check there.

and I have to wonder how returns would work if the manufacturer has no knowledge of the final purchaser?
