Is this a breach of contract?

My friend went to a car dealership to purchase a car. The dealership told her everything was okay on the loan and told her to take the car home. They took the money out of her bank for the deposit but then a month later she got a call from the dealership saying that she needed a co-signer. The contract was signed by all parties when she left the dealership. Would this be considered a breach of contract? And what legal recourse does she have?

I suggest she consult with an attorney.

You normally don't have a purchase contract until the bank accepts the deal.

Speak with an attorney or get a co-signer.

Read over the contract- it may contain a time period in which the dealer is allowed to revoke the contract.
