I was injured in a automobile accident 3-2-2010. I was rear-ended by another drive with both of us driving pick-ups. The impact drove me into another vehicle in front of me. Despite it being evident that the offending driver was at fault no ticket was issued by the officer. I filed a claim immediately and began a lawsuit for medical against my insurance and another against he and his insurance. The medical was resolved at the end of February and a letter sent to his insurance company. We are now two weeks into this being the third year from the beginning of my lawsuit. How much longer does the opposition have to settle this??

Are you still working with your lawyer - what does he say?

Despite him telling my wife and I both that he would call us 3-6-2010, he has yet to do so. Repeated phone calls with messages being left have not been responded to. To make matters even more problematic is that this is not the first time that phone calls have not been returned. On two other occasions thus far I have gone to one of the firm's and reported the lack of communication. Even though I spoke with a family member of the firm on both calls the behavior is here yet again.

Are you saying he hasn't called on 3-6-2010 & still hasn't called or do you mean 3-6-2013? Lawsuits can sometimes take quite a while. Your lawyer would be the best one to give you any idea of a time frame.

My apologies 3-6-2013 Thank you for replying. I guess the basic question still remains, " Is there not some type of time limitations on this or does is this delay tactic approved by the laws in Michigan.

Per my reference on Michigan, once the lawsuit has been filed (due to auto acc.) it can drag on for 1-3 years or longer & there really isn't much that can be done to make things happen sooner.

I would keep trying to get in touch with your lawyer & see what he might be able to tell you about your specific case. Good luck.
