Inherit House and Old DebT

If I inherit a house in someone elses name can I stay there and make the mortgage payments? Can collection agencies force sale of that house to pay old Credit card debts worth $40,000? I cant get a new loan but I would like to continue living there and continue to pay the mortgage with my social security check
Do they just put a lein on the house and get the money only if and when you ever sell it? or can they force you to sell it in Ohio?
I am 67 and want to stay in it for the rest of my life.

The house goes into the estate and must be sold if there are not enough assets to pay the debts. You would get any money that is left over.

The estate can defend the credit card debts if they are past the statute of limitaitons.

Someone must open probate of the estate.
