In need of help understanding the Napoleoinic Code in Louisiana

I have an issue with my deceased step mothers grand children fighting me and my brothers for my fathers property and possessions. Can anyone please help ???

Was there a will? If not, the deceased's assets will go to the closest relatives

Just exactly what is the problem - it wouldn't hurt to have more details. Why are they fighting/why do they believe they are entitled to property......
