My sister has been in communication with WAMU for the last several months regarding a loan modification on her mortgage. She was in preforclosure. The WAMU representative was arranging a payment schedule and had postponed the auction date several times. When WAMU was purchased by Chase the auction date was not postponed and the house was auctioned. She has written statements between herself and WAMU regarding the modification. She has been given 3 days to vacate. Does she have any legal recourse based on WAMU's statments that they were working with her? She does not have the resources to hire an attorney. Can she file a case herself? Is there any legal aid resources in or around San Bernardino? Thank you. Pamela Baergen.
