Image now a focus for cyber-bullying

My image was evidently taken without my knowledge or permission and is now the target of a band of hateful teenagers on Facebook. It has even been altered once, though Facebook itself is not hosting that image (Tinypic is). What are my rights here? Can I have the image removed as my name and likeness are being dragged through the electronic mud by these individuals? Facebook contends that no intellectual rights are being violated as I do not own the image, but I believe cyber-bullying and defamation of character does very much infringe on my rights.
