Corporate Law Illegal Reproduction?

here is my question.

i know this guy(who has a business) that made copies of invoices that belong to another company with out there permission. The company is owned by one of his employees. he took the copies home to his home office, he admits he went through some of the other companies invoices but you can clearly he went through all of them. i know this because he chew tabacco and on the corners of the pages there is stains from him licking his finger before turning the page.

I wanted to know if i should tell the employee to take action in court and if it is again the law for the guy to have done that?

It depends if the invoices have a copyright on them otherwise I would assume he could do that

but the invoice are from another company that he does not work for or own. They are the propery of the other company.
