I sold my car on Craigslist .I had to move out of state to start my job in April 2016.. so I had my little brother sell it and he never got a bill of sale. Not thinking the worst I thought the new owner changed the title but apparently never did.. I just got a letter in the mail at my parents house that I owe a lot of money to a towing company for the car. What can I do? Please help

Seems to me you have two options:

1 - Since the title is still in your name, pay the towing charges, get the car back, file for a lost title and get a duplicate title. (For Pete's sake use a little common sense and don't tell the DMV what happened.) Then resell the car the right way.

2 - Refuse to pay. If you get sued you can try to convince a judge that you sold the car on such and such a date. If you don't get sued but just get sent to collections, you'll just have to live with trashed credit for 7 years.

Life lesson from the school of hard knocks.
