I live in HUD ran apartments w/ my parent. Once a year my parent has to sign some documents giving HUD and the landlord permission to snoop through thier money and employment records. Does HUD and the landlord have the right to request my SSN plus my work/money records even though I pay no rent and have zero income? It just feels weird since I've been over 18 years of age for 2 years and this is the first time they've sent me such documents to sign.

I'm not sure that providing your Social Security number to a government agency that provides you and your family with a subsidy would constitute "snooping." From my understanding, part of the reason it is done is to check tax records and other income granted which would be linked to the SSN to make sure that there isn't income in excess of certain levels by those receiving the subsidy. After all, those that really need it should get it.
