Jail How long a person be held in jail?

How long can a person be held in jail without having a bond hearing or any kind of hearing? This person was arrested on july 3, 2006 for stalking and the charges were dropped on March 14, 2007. The person is still in jail and I can't get any answers from the local DA or the public defender for this person. What can I do to help this person?

Well only 72 hours so something is missing in this story. To help him you could hire a cheap lawyer, like someone who just passed the bar. Just hire him long enough to get all the details of the case. Most likely after you find out the details you'll decide not to help after all.
