Drug Crimes, Substance Abuse How do police determine intent to distribute

I have a friend that was just arrested for dui and "posession of meth w/intent to distribute". This person has never sold any drugs in her life, but she had her life savings in her purse ($1,900) in her purse at the time of her arrest. What can she do?

there are many ways to determine the intent, the first things a court looks at is the amount of drugs found on the perp, second the amount of money found on the perp (that would point to the fact that she had sold before she was arrested) and so on. Here it is probably the money they found that tipped them off.
