The ceilings and walls of my old house have a lot of mold recently. This may be due to the unusual wet weather that makes the walls and ceilings damper than before. I have applied a lot paint over the moldy areas but could not stop them from re-appearing.

Do you think a basic homeowner insurance policy will pay for repairing the walls and ceilings? I don't want to talk to the insurance now but would like to check with some of you who may have experienced a similar problem. Thanks.

Generally whether mold is covered by home owners ins. comes down to the source of the moisture & the wording in the policy. Most basic home owners insurance policies exclude coverage of damage caused by mold.
