hippa act privacy was invaded

    Went to hosp I signed no release papers from there but some employee told cys that I went cause I over dose which is not true n I havent even had my kids for almost 2yrs they live with my mother in law the courts r trying to take them away from her now .

    If there is an immediate danger to children, you generally don't have the protections that you believe you may have.

    The law requires things such as suspected child abuse or endangerment to be reported.
    Just because the report is made does not mean it is true, but it must be investigated for the sake of the children.
    Many reports, if not most, are determined to be unfounded.
    In your case, if the investigation determines you did not OD and the children were in no danger then no action will be taken.
    If the situation did not involve children and they were not with you or even mentioned then there might potentially be a privacy violation.
