Iam in the final stages of buying a yacht from a well known scottish broker, i sent my final cheque on saturday,i was told by the broker it would take 4 or 5 days to clear after which i would receive a bill of sale, however yesterday(tuesday) i got a phone call from the broker saying there was a slight hiccup, that the owner has an outstanding loan on the boat, the broker had contacted lombard(the bank)and everything would be ok,i would receive the bill of sale a week later having almost bought the boat i felt shocked and could not find anything to say.I know nothing of the law,and iam not a young man so this will be my last boat which i feel quite keen to own.what should i do.thank you.Ronald Walker.

I guess you can wait a week and see if the loan is off and the purchase goes through. What would you like to do?
