Help! my fiance was out parting one nite and ran into the school doors and broke them he didn't go inside but they have him on tape. He admits to doing it and is cooperating in every way. What should he expect when he goes to court? what is the maximum sentence?

he's 27 from SD. He doesn't know what he's being charged with yet they just sent the court date for next week.

SD has 8 classes of felonies. A class 4 felony in SD punishable by a ten years imprisonment in the state penitentiary. In addition, a fine of twenty thousand dollars may be imposed. Just make sure he has a good lawyer who can help reduce the charges significantly. He should not cooperate without his lawyers input and guidance. SD is tough on crime. If he has no priors then the better the plea he can get.
