help for 16y/o that has moved out

Hello, I am a 16 year old that has moved out of my parent's house, into a friend's house with my mother's permission. When I left, my stepdad only let me take with me was my clothes. Over the course of time my mom brought me my pillows and blankets. Now I want the rest of my belongings, most of which I have either paid for myself or have been given to me by people other than my parents. What can I do to get my things back?

I am sorry to hear about your situation. You can demand your property be returned to you and state nicely but firmly that if you can't simply get it then you'll have to do something about it. You may want to ask what seems to be the problem. You can explain nicely that you don't want to be forced to do so next time with either police escort or by going to court to sue for the cost of the items that can't just be returned to you -- and be sure to compile a complete list if you can of those items. It will not only help now but could also help eventually for your own inventory list and for insurance purposes.
