I'm asking this on my mother's behalf, it seems that we have some trouble at home that I just found out about when I just came home to visit. So any advice would be much appreciated if you can follow.
My mother is paying off a house in Orange County through Washington Mutual.
She is also paying off a house in Los Banos, CA through Countryside.
She can no longer make payments on the house in Los Banos, and foreclosure and letting the bank take the house back is her only viable option.
Can Countryside put a lien on the property in Orange County in any way? My mother is wondering because there is 300k left owed in Los Banos, and if the house doesn't sell for that much, will the bank try to collect the rest owed through my mother?
