My ex husband own a property together. We have been renting it for over a year. Since that time, I have purchased a new home.

Our renters are not going to renew the lease and we are unable to find new ones to rent for the existing mortgage. (we have a 2nd and third on the property). We have had the house up for sale but due to the housing market, we have been unable to sell it.

We will be able to make payments until Feb, then there will no longer be any money left. My question is if we let the house foreclose, can they take my house that I live in now or is there anyway I can protect myself.

Also if we foreclose, will they garnish both of our wages? If that happens I will not be able to pay my current home.

You need to do everything possible to keep that house.

Lower the rent. Lower the sales price. Get a second job.
