Flag Poles and Protests

My jurisdiction is: Texas

I was at a protest and police told the crowd there not allowed to use any sort of stick or flag pole to put on the flags. and that tape was not allowed as well...

Just wondering.. WHY????? is there a law saying you cant wave your flag witha flagpole on it or you cant tape signs onto the protest fences??

help me out here, i dont want to go to the next protest with a flagpole and flag and getting arrested for something that stupid

I suppose it might have depended upon where you were or whether the police felt that the poles could be weapons ... maybe these were large or heavy poled?

You'll have to ask them.
