Hi, I am canadian who is living in canada, my fiance is american living in the states. We plan to be married once my divorce is settled here in canada. I have difficulty crossing border to USA due to my ex calling immigration and telling them I was working and living in the USA( an out right lie). So customs hassles me some when I try to cross. My fiance has a recent felony on his record. Will this stop him from sponsoring me into the states with a fiance visa? Or will it stop him from moving to Canada? Any advice would help a great deal, we are very worried now.

If your fiance has a felony record (not related to marriage fraud or alien smuggling) you should consider how that fact is going to affect your everyday life. A convicted felon cannot vote, carry a firearm, and may have other restrictions or conditions to comply with if the person is still on parole. However, from the immigration point of view, his record is irrelevant. It's only YOUR record that matters.
This is not legal advice, consult your attorney if you need legal help.
