I don't believe I offered any hypothetical scenarios.

Since the OP advised the police that the felon was, in fact, present, all of this is hypothetical ;)

And since we don't do hypotheticals here and since the OP's question has been answered not just here but on at least two other forums as well, does anyone have anything relevant to say before I lock it down?

OP had legitimate questions about search and seizure. I don't know why some of you are so fussy about it.
No need to be so critical of people who are only asking for help. You likely discourage people to return with cranky responses.

I don't know about anyone else but I, personally, find it rather...annoying...when someone aides and abets felons.

Nothing was said about aiding and abetting.

What you describe here is not harboring. You did not conceal or give shelter to a fugitive... The person in question already resided with you after you posted bail. Your knowledge of the warrant does not amount to harboring. It would require some additional act with intent to conceal or otherwise hinder the capture of the suspect.
For example, had you lied about his presence at your home when they asked... but you didn't do that.

    And his questions were answered.

I suggest you distance yourself from this person immediately. You may as well count your bail as lost and you aren't getting it back.

I made the mistake of bailing out my ex husband not knowing the money would be in his name. I kept thinking he'd give it back to me. Nope.

I sure as hell wouldn't ever lie to the police for him or about him. Not even when I was with him.

Do yourself a favor and cut your losses now before it gets worse for you.

If you think that some search you found out on the Internet qualifies as legal advice, go for it. I think your best bet is to talk to a lawyer if you want legit legal advice.

They came there to find him because you bailed him out. So they figured you might have him there. But why were they even looking for him? Did he miss a court appearance? If he did you're out of luck on that bail.
