Okay so I'm 19 and I have three charges on me. Now at my first court date I was told by the PD that two of the charges would be dropped and the F3 (menacing) dropped down to a M6 but I was falsely accused of the crime. This was when I was in jail and the PD was appointed to me now I need to get someone on my own and can't afford it. The question is do I need an attorney at the preliminary hearing to get the 2 charges (3 assault and criminal mist jiff) dropped and the F3 down to a M6 or should I ask for a continuance and get a lawyer to get the M6 dropped as well? I know I can't have this on my record and this is my first offense. I spent 4 days in jail and never want to go back. So dose anyone think they can help me? Thank you for your time.
