A friend was formerly an employee of a department store, but is now in another job. During his dept. store employment, he witnessed a shoplifting and he has been subpoenaed to testify at the criminal trial. The matter has been continued 7 times already, each time my friend had to take time off of his new job (without pay). Can he demand reimbursement for his lost wages from his former employer?
