K Visa F1 Student getting married to American citizen

Hello all

I am on F1 visa and my visa will expire after 2 years. I m in middle of my PHD. I m planning to get married to my BF (who is American citizen) next year in Jan. My concern is " Can this marriage affect my visa status"? I dont want to have any problems in completion of my degree? What can be the worst consequences of getting married to American citizen while still on ur F1 visa?

You could also contact the US Department of State or Homeland Security.

I suggest you do nothing until you receive answers about your situation.

You might also check with your native country.

Your country might not recognize (or could even prohibit its citizens from marrying US citizens) US marriages!

In the interim, do NOTHING, if education is your primary objective.
