In 2007 I was charged with a misdemeanor for a worthless check. I paid the fines and I have on my record in FL as Adj W/H. I was told that I am able to expunge this from my record. But since I am living in San Diego, CA, how can I proceed to do an expungement?

An expungement or expunction doesn't remove any arrest, or wipe away a conviction.
All either one does is attempt to conceal the arrest and subsequent conviction.
Only a pardon can cleanse and purify your name.
If you do a cursory search of this site (or others), you'll find yourself confused, befuddled, and bemused by the number of people who acquired an expungement or expunction, nevertheless to to be hounded by the original, troubling event.
Florida's FDLE refers to the "process" as "seal & expunge".
You also must apply to the court in the county where you were sentenced.
Bear in mind, whatever Florida does, doesn't conceal what the FBI possesses about any arrest and/or subsequent conviction.
The Feds are the weak link in the process, which is a very sound idea.

You can read all about expunctions in Florida, and even complete an online form to start the process:
