I went through three interviews with a company...

The day after the third interview I was called and offered the position and salary, I accepted. I was instructed to call back later to the Dept. manager about the start date. I called and was told that I would most likely start in two weeks that she would call me next week with more info........

I have not been in to sign anything, nothing was offered on paper, and now I can't get the dept. manager to return my calls.

Needless to say I want an explanation........
Should I go in a meet with the head of HR, do I have a leg to stand on,..........I turned down another interview because I had just beed hired by this company.

You may have a difficult case to prove, including damages. It's difficult to say what the damages are. When you recieve an offer and accept it, you should either have them send you a letter of employment or you should send them an acceptance letter. This way, in the event they are not sincere and you are damages as a result you have a much better chance at recovery.
