Several years ago my wife plead down from Attempted Murder charges to misdeamenor elderly neglect. Currently the alleged victim is seriously ill in the hospital. Can she be charged with any other crimes if a doctor believes the alleged victim's current medical condition stems from the defendants alleged actions stemming from the original charges? Especially if the alleged victim dies?
My wife has had no contact with the alleged victim since the original charges and now lives in a different state.

It's possible, yes, but much would depend on the circumstances. These are obviously serious crimes, and the state will generally do whatever they feel is necessary to bring those responsible to justice.

She really needs an attorney, to discuss the possibilities. While double jeopardy may attach to the original conviction, that does not preclude further and more serious charges.
