Greetings,
I am a US/Canadian dual citizen currently living in Windsor, Ontario.
One year ago I was convicted of Production and Possession of Marijuana.
My sentance was a $1000 fine which I paid, 3 years probation and a 10 year firearms ban.
Now my question is, I may want to move back to the US soon, and I want to know if my probation would affect me there as well as the firearms ban, and would my record bar me from entering the military?
In short, does a record in a foreign country affect my US life at all?
Also, would this cause any difficulties crossing the border even with my dual citizenship?
And could I apply for a pardon in Canada from the US or would I have to move back for a period?
All input would be greatly appreciated as this area is very confusing for me
Thanks in advance for taking the time to help me!
