Does a Nonprofit need to pay tax for its volunteer staff?

I intend to start a nonprofit corporation under IRS tax code section 501(c)(7). The aim of the company will be to connect and organize the skiers who enjoy skiing through the trees. I have concerns about the legal ramifications of having employees. I don't plan on making any money in the first couple of years because the scope of the project, by nature, only includes Tree Skiers. Currently, my group of dedicated directors consists of me, my fiancee, and best buddy. We plan on serving as officers (President, Vice President, and Secretary) on a volunteer basis (without pay). There are no other "employees". Does VT or federal law require me to pay unemployment insurance or other taxes? I don't want to get into hot water. Can you help me with clearing up this issue? If not, can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks a bunch

Hire an Attorney and make him your corporation counsel.
Hire a CPA and make him your Comptroller.

You will need both if you wish to operate this way.

If you screw up as a 501(c), they likely will pull it.
You then would end up with a major tax liability.
