Do we have rights in the matter?

Our property of nearly one acre ends about five feet from the property next to ours, which is about one third of an acre. The owner of the next door property has a rental trailer on it which is at a discreet distance from us. Now he is planning to put a second trailer on it, very close to our driveway. We are not happy with this because it will be too close to us. He says that he will put up a privacy fence, but we fear noise issues. We are also worried about our property values having a trailer so close. When we purchased our property last year, we were told that only one trailer would be placed on the next door lot. Have we any legal recourse? Or can we sue if this causes our property value to depreciate?

You might first contact your city's building/zoning dept. & see if there is any problem with them for any reason where the trailer will be located.

Agreed. If there is any help to be found here it will be in local ordinances. There is nothing for you to do until a trailer is actually placed. You may want to do yourself a favor and have the property surveyed and marked where the boundary is.
