do I owe her money

My ex girlfriend and I are now broken up. We have two cats and a dog. The deposit fee for the cats is $100 and for the dog it's $200. My ex is the one moving out but I'm keeping the pets. My question is, is it my responsibility to pay her the $300 or does she have to get it from the landlord. Keep in mind that she never even told the landlord that she's moving out in the first place and she's leaving in a day, May 28.

I have no idea what a "deposit fee" is but chances are that if the two of you co-owned these animals than you'd share in the fees as well in the same percentage.
