Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Do i have to appear at court?

got caught. really pissed at myself. i signed the papers stating i wouldnt return to the store. they said i would have to pay a civil fee but didnt not mention anything about appearing in court. will they ask me to go?

am an adult n my juvenile brother was with me, he got banned also even though he didnt do anything

Yes he did he was with ytou and made no attempt to stop theft or walk away from you during theft. This makes him an accomplice

More than likely you will not have to appear in court. Usually the police are called at the time of incident to run you for warrants and write a police report. The LP then go to the magistrate/commissioner and swear out a warrant for larceny.

I would wager that you most likely will not have court interaction unless you disobey the ban notice, pay the civil demand notice and steal no more.

You are most likely also entered into a national shoplifters database.
