In discovery process, why must ink original documents be sent to opposing party?

Were you considering crayon, pencil, or charcoal?
Why not ink?
Seriously, those are NOT questions we who practice law concern ourselves with, if we did, nothing would ever get done.
Why margins, why headers, why signature blocks, why certain typesets, why why???

Any Judge- you claim not to waste your time answering questions of discovery but you wasted my time and your time anyways responding in a childish manner. As a paralegal transitioning from probate to litigation I am inquiring why ORIGINALS are sent to opposing parties rather than copies. But you stick to practicing law and learn to read a question thoroughly before answering.
