Hi,
I went on disability due to a bad vehicle addicent. I was out of work for 6 months total on STD to LTD. I will soon be able to return to work. I contacted work and they said I have no job to come back too. I also have a few weeks of vacation left with that company. Can I cut my ties from that company and get my vacation pay and still stay on disability until my doctor clears me.. Or once I part ways from the company does disablity end? Also is it correct that they don't have to offer me a position at all?

The maximum that an employer is required to hold your job is 12 weeks so yes, it is accurate that they do not have to offer you a position at all.'

Since we have not read your LTD policy we do not know what happens to your LTD benefits when your employment ends. It would be extremely unusual for your benefits to end with your employment but only someone in your HR office can tell you for certain.
