I have a friend who was brought to the U.S illegally when he was 5 years old. He is now 18. Recently he was pulled over for a broken tail light and is now being held in jail awaiting deportation. He has no criminal record. My question is asking if there is anything I can do to help him. He has been moved to a different city with his cousin who was a passenger when he got pulled over. He is also illegal. My friend is a great person who works very hard. There has to be a way to keep him here.

If it were only that simple where we could punish the wrongdoers for their evils and have an endless supply of money to help the innocent. Especially given the challenges that exist here since 9/11 and the actions of Homeland Security, I don't know what could feasibly be done to help, especially without the assistance of an experienced immigration attorney. This is not a simple matter. Best of luck.
