I have been an investor in american credit co. since 1991.
The debenture notes always matured in 2 years, and i reinvested until June 2006.
I had reached retirement age and no longer was interested in this investment.
I received 30 thousand dollars in june 2006 for the notes.
Last week a bankruptcy court sent a letter saying the american credit co. filed for
bankruptcy in July 2006...AND i was responsible for paying back the 30 thou.+
    lawyer fees.
I had no knowledge of the companys pending bankruptcy.
    What recourse do i have?
    thanks for any info
