Can someone accuse you of sexual molestation and it is unfounded and there is no evidence and it be on your background check for employment? Can just an accusation ruin your life when it is not true and can you sue for defamation of character?

It should have been expunged if the fat ass judge was doing his/her job.

You must prove damages. Example: Can't find a decent job because of fabrication.

Sue the city, county and state.

What if it never got to court, just someone called a hotline?

What if the world gets hit by a comet tonight and we are all killed/

Okay, give us facts and details.

What do you really want to know?

A lady called in to a hotline and accused my husband of molesting her grandaughter. The grandaughter never has repeated anything like that to anyone. Not her mother, not a counselor, not anyone. Of course it is not true. My husband would never do that to any child. All children love him and he loves them. The grandmother doesn't like us and we believe it was malicious. The call was made 5 weeks ago and we have not been contacted by anyone. We just found out about it from our adult daughter who went to their house to find out why they weren't returning phone calls.
Do we need an attorney?

Calls to a hotline generally will not give rise to a defamation action.

In other words, you have no case.
