Just been reading though some posts on this site - it looks really good for some basic information to further my knowledge.
Something which I was wondering though is about the DPA - basically, if an institution uses a web applications hosted on a server owned by the developers then what implications are there under the DPA.
As far as I am aware, when outsourcing data processing you have to have a written agreement saying the processing company will keep the data secure and may not disclose any of this data without your permission or in accordance with your instructions.
