About 30 years ago, we purchased property in a cabin like atmosphere where the lot sizes are about 1/4 acre in size at an elevation of about 3700' (snow area). The adjoining property owner planted small Redwood (gigantius) trees just inside of his property line every 8"-0" with the intention of when they got big enough (about 4" diameter) that he would cut them down and use them as fence posts. Well, time has gone by (30 years) and the property has changed hands several times. The problem is that when it snows, these trees are so tall and so dense that they block the sunlight from our property and driveway wherein the shade keeps the snow there forever. Do we have any recourse in this matter?? I know that we can trim the limbs that extend over the property line (without killing the tree of course), but is there anyone out there that could shed some light so to speak about this Curtain of trees that is robbing us of sunshine and view??
