If 50,000 dollars was taken from my job over the past 2 years,what are the prison sentences for this in New York?

Is talking and admitting guilt to the consulting firm that is
representing my job a good thing? And offering to the pay
the amount back in full? Will this clear me of being brought
up on charges? Should i agree to take a polygraph test by
this consulting firm?

If you took the money... you could still be charged with grand larceny regardless of whether you paid back the money. It might aid in them not going forward with charges against you. Have they done so? You could always offer a confidentiality agreement that each side agrees not to talk. Regardless, it seems likely that they will come after you for the money so some type of deal might not be a bad idea... you should have the advice of counsel before you make any deal.
