Credit Card Fraud

Hi. I set up a fake e-mail address to sign up to a porn site. I then made transactions on it from my credit card. Today I received a letter from AIB enquiring about recent fraudulent transactions, saying to call them as soon as possible. Does that count as fraud? I am freaking out and wondering if I am in trouble. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated

It is not fraud.
Fraud prevention programs monitor your spending habits for unusual activity. It is likely that your purchase triggered an alert and they are wanting to verify that it was you.
You do not have to do anything. If you do not contact them to report a fraudulent charge there should be no trouble. However, if they believe it is fraud and they don't hear from you they might deactivate your card to prevent additional charges.
Anyway, no, you are not in trouble.

Allied Irish Bank = AIB? My guess is that you are being contacted as a random fraud audit to determine whether you truly made the charge. Porn sites and webhosting (by those seeking to cause problems for others like DOS attacks) are notorious for the use of stolen credit cards. I get contacted every other month for buying some mundane item at a store I've never patronized. I wouldn't worry about the issue and just speak to them. I agree with mighty moose that if you ignore the call, things could be worse for yourself. No point in not facing the call, especially where there appears to have been no foul committed. Good luck.
