I live in Georgia. My wife and I have some joint credit card debt and some individual credit card debt. If one of us were to pass away, would the deceased's estate have to pay the individual debt? If I am the beneficiary of her life insurance policy would the benefit be considered part of her estate? We made a will on LegalZoom, stating what we wanted done with the life insurance benefit, I just don't know if I would have to pay her individual debt out of the benefit also
