I purchased a bunkbed/futon combo bedroom set for my 4 year old last week. I paid a $59.99 fee for delivery and assembly. On friday the set was delivered and assembled, or so I thought. Once the delivery men left, my son excitedly climbed up the ladder to try out his new bed as I looked on. Once he reached the the top I watched the bed literally sway beneath him. I grabbed him off the the top of the bed and began to more closely inspect the delivery mens' work. I realized that they simply placed the bed together like a puzzle and that nothing was actually secured. I also found tucked under the bed an unopened bag of screws that were supposed to be used to keep the bed together.
I called the company and after several hours was able to get another crew to come the next day and secure the bed. When I asked what they would do regarding the situation, the company apologized several times and offered to refund the $59.99 delivery and assembly fee saying that that was the best they could do.
Aren't I entitled to more for them putting my son at risk like that? Should I pursue this?
