"Under federal guidelines, you also need an EIN (Employer's ID Number) if you have a qualified retirement plan, operate your business as a corporation or partnership, or file employment taxes, or excise taxes."
So you could not use your SS number for a corporation but you could use if for an LLC if you have no employees since an LLC is a disregarded entity for US income tax purposes.

And it's very easy to obtain an EIN (Employer Identification Number) from the IRS. And you can obtain one very quickly.
