Hello Experts,

I am a member in an online IT forum at programmers frequently post technical questions and code to seek inputs and experts advise from other IT professionals.

A friend of mine used my user id and password to post some code in this IT forum. While posting the code he forgot to remove the copyright/company name/confidentiality statement from the code.

He posted only small percent of code of lines to seek the answer.

He posted this in completely good faith (without any malicious intent whatsoever) and his intent was to get timely feedback to develop the solution faster and better serve the company.

He realized this mistake and deleted the question after 3 days. During those 3 days the company found that question and code in that site and took screen shots.

Company knows that he was working on that code and asked him about publishing the code online.

I came to know that that company's legal council is trying to reach me because it was posted using my user id and password. But They don't have any contact information of me with them.

I am upset on listening those words. The company is a very big company.

Please let me know what legal issues you foresee.

Thanks in advance
